Welcome to Grade 5B!

This blog is a glimpse into the life of Grade 5B. Although this is our last term together, we will be regularly updating our blog and sharing insightful, strange, humorous and (most importantly) educational highlights with our friends and families.

The fourth term is often the busiest with exams, award ceremonies and final preparations for Grade 6, but it is also always the most fun! So sit back, relax and enjoy reading all about the adventures of Grade 5B!

Money, Money, Money!

Well, our Market Day has come and gone and what a successful day it was! The girls exceeded our expectations this year and produced the most interesting and creative products to sell. Congratulations to all of you on the tremendous effort you put into today, it was obvious that you all spent a lot of time preparing for this event.

Most of the stalls were sold out within an hour which left the Grade R's feeling a little disappointed that there was nothing left to buy. Although, some of the Grade 5's saw an opportunity when this happened and even sold parts of their outfits and table decorations!

We came back to the classroom after selling all our goods and counted up our earnings. There were some entrepreneurs who were even rolling around in money - with twenty, fifty and one hundred rand notes everywhere! It was great fun and there are photos of some serious financial debates taking place during this session. Keep your eye on the Photos page for those pics.
I hope that you have all planned your outfits for civvies day tomorrow. Don't forget to bring your R5 for the Little Angels charity, and make sure that Chloe, the photographer for the day, takes some photos of all of you. I'm sorry that I'm going to miss that so I look forward to seeing the photographic evidence as a preview of who you will all be when you grow up!

Be good tomorrow, work hard, and have a lovely weekend. See you all on Monday!

Monday Blues!

The start of week three and time for our summer uniform.

It was so lovely to see the whole of Grade 5B looking neat and summery in their blue dresses - freshly unpacked, washed and ironed . It was even better to see that, at break time, every head in the Grade 5B line had a blue hat on it. Well done to all of you for remembering your sun hats! You definitely deserve your little treat of an extended break. We'll enjoy that extra time sometime during the week.

We are also making a concerted effort to work hard in the classroom this week.
Now that we each have a secret spy watching our every move, it is going to help us to stay focussed and remember our manners. It will also help to remind us of all the good things that we are doing and should continue to do, because those little things are always greatly appreciated. So keep up the good effort that you have made so far.

Keep working on your items for Market Day on Thursday, we are looking forward to seeing what you have worked so hard to produce for your mini business.

Work hard, play hard and have a wonderful week!
