After reading the very successful novel written by Grade 5B 2009, the seed has been sown in the class of 2010 and ideas have been flowing for another 5B book. The girls loved the story that last year's class wrote, entitled "The Dream Catchers", and they are determined to write something just as good!
We have discussed some wonderful ideas for a plot already and we even have a good idea of who our main character is going to be. We all seem to be in agreement about the basic plot of the story, but there are a few details that need some clarity. So, the fairest thing to do in a situation like that is vote. Which we did. Today we went through the democractic process of voting on a private ballot paper. I know the girls are dying to know the results of that vote, so here they are:
Characters:
1) Main character's name - Lily
Age: 13 or 14 (she is in Grade 8)
Appearance - Blonde hair and blue eyes
2) Wealthy Aunt's name - Delilah
Appearance - Tall and skinny with long brown curly hair
3) Neighbour - Jeremy (older than Lily)
Setting:
Old Victorian mansion with large, lush garden
Double-storey, with an attic and a library with a trap door
Trap door leads to a spiral staircase, which leads to a secret room
The Mystery...well, the readers will have to wait and find out!
Now that we have come this far, we might as well begin
with chapter 1!
Welcome to Grade 5B!
This blog is a glimpse into the life of Grade 5B. Although this is our last term together, we will be regularly updating our blog and sharing insightful, strange, humorous and (most importantly) educational highlights with our friends and families.
The fourth term is often the busiest with exams, award ceremonies and final preparations for Grade 6, but it is also always the most fun! So sit back, relax and enjoy reading all about the adventures of Grade 5B!
