Welcome to Grade 5B!

This blog is a glimpse into the life of Grade 5B. Although this is our last term together, we will be regularly updating our blog and sharing insightful, strange, humorous and (most importantly) educational highlights with our friends and families.

The fourth term is often the busiest with exams, award ceremonies and final preparations for Grade 6, but it is also always the most fun! So sit back, relax and enjoy reading all about the adventures of Grade 5B!

A Blustery Tuesday!

It was quite a co-incidence that we learnt about wind in Geography today as it was such a windy day! I wonder what rating it would have had on the Beaufort Scale! One thing I do know is that the level of madness rated quite high on the Grade 5B Madness Scale today...I think there was far too much sugar in Caitlin's birthday treats!

I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to every single one of you that took part in the Prestige Music Concert last night, it was absolutely amazing. I had no idea that Khanyo and Mbali had such natural rhythm which they demonstrated during the African Dance performance, and all of you in the choir sounded so beautiful. Tabitha looked lovely up on stage with her guitar under her arm and Nicola tinkled along beautifully with the Orff group. As for Bronwyn, I would never have been able to do what she did, playing a solo part on the glockenspiel with the whole orchestra. You played beautifully, Bronwyn, and the sound added a touch of magic to that piece. Well done to all of you, I felt so proud.

I thoroughly enjoyed the adverts that you made up about Substance Abuse today, I think you have all got the message about how harmful the effects of abusing those substance are. We've had excellent History Plays, important LO adverts...so, I think we'll do some Science tomorrow...maybe a dance or a rap!

Enjoy the afternoon. Do some revision, and then relax and read a book. Don't watch too much T.V - you know what happens to children who do!!!
